Paranoid police fear phone app attacks

Unlike in my post yesterday about ex-partners being tracked by their phones, this article that is spreading widely about potential criminals using Waze to track the location of police officers in order to attack them just seems to be odd.

Attacks on police do happen, however it just doesn't seem plausible that someone is more likely to attack a police officer that they find on Waze than one they might just happen to see on the street anyway. And if a bank robber is relying on Waze for a clean getaway, they deserve to be caught.

It is a little absurd if it gets to the point where anything that might harm anyone in any way is banned. Maybe the 300 million guns in America present a more serious danger to the police than a smartphone app.
